The Oxfordshire Association of Local Councils is part of a national network and has been representing Town & Parish Councils, and Parish Meetings for over seventy years. We provide advice and information for them, and training for councillors and clerks.

We represent local council interests through partnerships with other local and regional agencies in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

OALC supports local councils across Oxfordshire with advice, training, and resources. We represent our members and help them stay informed and compliant.

Who is this Website for?
The OALC website is intended for all Parish and Town Councils in Oxfordshire. Any of these councils can book onto our events and courses, but only our members get preferential rates and access to our members area.

What are Local Councils?
Parish and Town Councils, often known simply as "local councils", exist in many English parishes. They vary from councils based on a small village, to ones serving large urban areas with tens of thousands of residents. They are recognised nationally as the level of local government closest to people.
