Planning Community Events

It is never too early to start planning the successful delivery of council events and public activities. This two-hour training session covers all the essential elements for any Town or Parish Council to consider. It also provides essential Health & Safety tips and advice; plus the basics on risk assessments.

 

This first part of the session presents essential guidance on how to run more effective events.

This includes;

  • Establishing your goals, objectives and target audience.
  • Planning – an essential checklist for before, during and after
  • Maximising publicity - utilising the media, marketing and effective local promotion.

 

The training also covers the necessary Health and Safety steps required for your council activities.

Including;

  • Identifying and evaluating potential hazards (and deciding on precautions).
  • Developing and using basic Risk Assessments.
  • Essential steps to ensure adequate H&S measures are implemented.

 

This is a two hour session from 10:00 - 12:00.

 

About the Trainer:

Mike Deegan has over 20 years experience managing events and H&S while working with a national charity and nearly a decade as a councillor with his local parish council (where he helped developed a number of successful community activities and events).
